Wizz Air has signed a new deal with seat manufacturer Geven for nearly 200 shipsets, equipping the European low-cost carrier with almost 45,000 seats for its growing Airbus A321neo fleet.
The airline chose the Eva model, which Geven says is the lightest seat on the market, designed for high-density narrow-body aircraft.
The seat features a patented full-composite backrest to increase knee clearance and a lightweight structural cushion that eliminates the need for a traditional seat pan. The bespoke Italian design incorporates the airline’s signature colours.
“The selection of Eva seats supports our strategy of combining efficiency with an enhanced passenger experience,” said Julia Brix, supply chain officer at Wizz Air.
“Lightweight design and emission reduction are key priorities for Wizz Air, and this solution meets both without compromise. By choosing Eva for our A321neo fleet, we confirm our focus on innovative cabin solutions that enhance efficiency while maintaining high passenger comfort standards. This collaboration sets a new benchmark for high-density cabin interiors, demonstrating how design, performance, and sustainability can successfully converge.”
The robust design is intended to ensure a low cost of ownership and ease of MRO for the growing fleet. Pasquale Rapullini, sales and business development manager at Geven, said: “Eva is designed to offer exceptional comfort and to meet the stringent operational and efficiency needs of modern airlines”.
