The award was presented on October 30 at the firm\u2019s Airline Leader Summit \u2013 Asia &amp; Awards for Excellence, in Singapore.<\/p>\n<p>CAPA noted the recent merger between Korean Air and Asiana has been driving the airline\u2019s transformation, covering the branding, aircraft liveries, in-flight product, network planning, and IT systems.<\/p>\n<p>The panel also commended the airline\u2019s clear and methodical approach to the complex integration, noting the ultimate outcome will be the formation of a global megacarrier that will change the competitive landscape of Asian aviation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aviationbusinessnews.com\/cabin\/korean-air-acquires-217m-westjet-stake\/\">Korean Air acquires $217m WestJet stake<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing awarded Asia Airline of the Year by CAPA is a meaningful validation of our entire team\u2019s dedication during this historic period of transformation,\u201d said Taejoon Kim, SVP and Head of International Affairs and Alliances at Korean Air. \u201cWe are fully committed to the successful integration of our airlines, with a clear focus on building a sustainable, top-tier global carrier that will set new standards for customer experience and enhance the regional aviation network.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other winners at the CAPA Awards include Cebu Pacific, which picked up the trophy for Asian LCC.
