Flag carrier Air Alg\u00e9rie has taken delivery of its first Airbus A330-900, marking a major step in the modernisation of its long-haul fleet and a strengthening of its long-standing partnership with Airbus.<\/p>\n
The new widebody will support the airline\u2019s growth strategy from its Algiers hub, with Air Alg\u00e9rie confirming the aircraft will be central to the launch of new transatlantic and Asian routes.<\/p>\n
The carrier is due to receive seven additional A330neos and is on course to become Africa\u2019s largest operator of the type.<\/p>\n
Air Alg\u00e9rie also plans to position itself as a centre of excellence for the A330neo, expanding its maintenance and repair capabilities and developing a dedicated maintenance training centre to support the fleet\u2019s long-term operation.<\/p>\n
According to Airbus<\/a>, the A330 family had secured more than 1,900 firm orders from over 130 customers worldwide by the end of October 2025.
