AIRZETA, a new independent South Korean cargo airline formed from the merger of Asiana Cargo and Korean Air and subsequently spun off from Air Incheon, has officially launched operations \u2013 and selected Vienna Airport as its primary European hub.<\/p>\n
The carrier\u2019s debut in Europe is anchored by a long-term cargo partnership with Vienna Airport, including a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cargo development and multi-year handling agreements.<\/p>\n
The move further consolidates Vienna\u2019s position as a key gateway for Asian-European air freight.<\/p>\n
The partnership was formally inaugurated at a signing ceremony in the airport\u2019s control tower, followed by an evening reception attended by Ham Sang Wook, ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Austria, AIRZETA chief executive Kwan Sik Kim, and Vienna Airport<\/a> joint chief executive and chief operating officer Julian J\u00e4ger.<\/p>\n \u201cWith AIRZETA, we are not only welcoming a new airline to Vienna but gaining a strategic partner in the cargo sector \u2013 one that has made a clear commitment to our location,\u201d said J\u00e4ger.<\/p>\n \u201cAIRZETA\u2019s decision to choose Vienna as its European hub sends a strong signal about the quality and potential of our airport. This strengthens the economic, logistical, and strategic connection between Europe and Korea.\u201d<\/p>\n Kim said: \u201cVienna is the ideal launchpad for AIRZETA\u2019s European operations. Excellent infrastructure, outstanding handling quality, and the airport\u2019s strategic geographic position made our decision clear.
