UK regional airline Blue Islands has ceased operations \u2018with immediate effect\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u00a0In a statement, the airline said simply that it was suspending operations and \u2018considering its options\u2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The airline has been operating Channel Island services since 2001. Initially known as \u2018Rockhopper\u2019 it changes to Blue Islands in 2006.<\/p>\n It\u2019s collapse represents the second of the UK\u2019s handful of regional airlines to go under in as many weeks, following Eastern Airways\u2019 filing for administration<\/a> on November 7.<\/p>\n Blue Islands had borrowed \u00a38.5m from the Jersey government at the start of the pandemic.
