{"id":1353,"date":"2025-12-23T08:00:39","date_gmt":"2025-12-23T08:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zephyrsys.us\/index.php\/2025\/12\/23\/aar-to-acquire-aircraft-reconfig-technologies\/"},"modified":"2025-12-23T08:00:39","modified_gmt":"2025-12-23T08:00:39","slug":"aar-to-acquire-aircraft-reconfig-technologies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zephyrsys.us\/index.php\/2025\/12\/23\/aar-to-acquire-aircraft-reconfig-technologies\/","title":{"rendered":"AAR to acquire Aircraft Reconfig Technologies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AAR Corp has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase aircraft interiors engineering company, Aircraft Reconfig Technologies, from ZIM Aircraft Cabin Solutions for $35 million in an all-cash transaction, subject to customary adjustments.<\/p>\n<p>Upon closing, the acquisition will immediately expand AAR Corp\u2019s engineering and certification capabilities in its repair and engineering segment, allowing it to further differentiate itself as the leading independent MRO provider in North America.<\/p>\n<p>Aircraft Reconfig Technologies is an engineering company specialising in passenger aircraft reconfiguration for leading global airlines.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s full-service solutions include project management, engineering, and certification for aircraft interior reconfigurations.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 1990, the company\u2019s approximately 100 team members are based in Greensboro, North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>An FAA Part 21 and 183 Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) holder, Aircraft Reconfig Technologies\u2019 IP portfolio includes patents, parts manufacturer approval (PMA), and supplemental type certificates.<\/p>\n<p>Incorporating these qualifications into AAR Corp\u2019s repair and engineering segment will expand its design capabilities for more complex aircraft modification work to complement its MRO offering.<\/p>\n<p>The ODA designation will also minimise AAR\u2019s reliance on third parties for design certification.<\/p>\n<p>John M. Holmes, AAR Corp\u2019s chairman, president and chief executive, said: \u201cM&amp;A is an important element of AAR\u2019s continued growth strategy. This acquisition will elevate AAR\u2019s engineering and in-house certification services to drive proprietary solutions as part of our broader MRO offering.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to welcoming the skilled team at Aircraft Reconfig Technologies to AAR.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tom Hoferer, AAR\u2019s senior vice president of repair and engineering, said: \u201cThis acquisition will add incremental engineering capabilities that will further differentiate AAR and enable us to expand our total accessible market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFurther, by combining Aircraft Reconfig Technologies\u2019 qualifications with <a href=\"http:\/\/aarcorp.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AAR<\/a>\u2019s leadership position in MRO, we will be able to bring certification for our engineering solutions in-house, which will enhance our offerings to customers and create opportunities for AAR to pursue additional work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The transaction is expected to close in Q4 of AAR\u2019s Fiscal Year 2026, subject to customary closing conditions, including receipt of certain regulatory approvals.
