Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines leisure carrier joint venture SunExpress saw a 7% increase in passenger volumes in 2025, up to 16 million across its network.<\/p>\n
The carrier said the improved performance reflects the popularity of\u00a0\u00a0T\u00fcrkiye as one of the leading holiday destinations in Europe.<\/p>\n
SunExpress also recorded \u201crobust traffic\u201d during the peak\u00a0Christmas travel period,\u00a0from December 20 to January 4.<\/p>\n
During this time, the airline carried\u00a0almost half a million passengers\u00a0in total, a\u00a09% increase compared to the previous year\u2019s festive season.<\/p>\n
The airline said these results \u201creinforce SunExpress\u2019 position as a leading leisure airline between Europe and T\u00fcrkiye, supported by its strong partnership structure and expanding network\u201d.<\/p>\n
In addition to summer sun and beach travel, SunExpress caters for a number of other types of travel including cultural, archaeological, and culinary tourism, and sports travel.<\/p>\n
The airline operates in a total of 237 routes to 92 destinations across 35 countries.<\/p>\n
