The agreement also includes purchase rights for a further eight A350-1000s, providing flexibility to support future network expansion.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1429\" data-end=\"1903\">Mark Galardo, executive vice president and chief commercial officer, and president of cargo at Air Canada, said: \u201cAir Canada\u2019s acquisition of the Airbus A350-1000 will further solidify our position as a leading global airline through the next decade. This state-of-the-art aircraft adds a new dimension to Air Canada\u2019s long-haul capabilities, with impressive range, enhanced payload, and proven economics that unlock new possibilities for long-haul flying for our customers.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1905\" data-end=\"2206\">\u201cThese highly capable aircraft complement our existing fleet by providing flexibility in support of a growing, resilient, and diversified future network. The Airbus A350-1000 will play a central role in defining Air Canada\u2019s next era, connecting our customers, our hubs, and our country to the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2208\" data-end=\"2488\">The A350-1000 order builds on a broader fleet renewal programme. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aircanada.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Air Canada<\/a> is expecting 14 <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner<\/span><\/span> aircraft to begin entering service later this year, while the first of its 30 <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Airbus A321XLR<\/span><\/span> jets are due in the coming months.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2490\" data-end=\"2763\">The carrier also continues to take delivery of the Canadian-assembled <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Airbus A220<\/span><\/span>, with 23 aircraft remaining from its firm order of 65. In addition, five leased <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Boeing 737 MAX<\/span><\/span> aircraft are expected to enter service in 2026.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2765\" data-end=\"2992\">John Di Bert, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Air Canada, said: \u201cThe addition of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.airbus.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Airbus<\/a> A350-1000 to our fleet is a forward-looking investment that strengthens Air Canada\u2019s long-term cost efficiency.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2994\" data-end=\"3334\">\u201cThese aircraft will deliver improved operating economics, enhance our operational reliability, and ensure we remain competitive across our global network.
