UK leisure airline Jet2.com has completed a two-year retrofit programme to install Split Scimitar Winglets to 74 of its Boeing 737-800NG aircraft which its says will lead to improved aircraft efficiency and reduced fuel consumption.<\/p>\n
The multi-million pound retrofit is expected to reduce fuel burn by 1.5%, help to cut the airline\u2019s annual carbon emissions by over 28,000 tonnes, and reduce annual fuel consumption by more than 11 million litres.<\/p>\n
The completion of the retrofit in the latest tangible action in Jet2\u2019s Sustainability Strategy which has been repeatedly recognised for its results-driven approach such as investing billions into decarbonising its fleet and the electrification of Jet2.com-owned ground service equipment.<\/p>\n
