Air Europa Cargo has renewed its handling management agreement with Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) in Madrid and Barcelona for a further five years.<\/p>\n
WFS has supported the airline\u2019s cargo operations in Madrid since 2018 and expanded the partnership to Barcelona in January 2021. The renewed contract will see the two companies continue working together as Air Europa strengthens its cargo offering at both Spanish gateways.<\/p>\n
In Madrid, WFS manages cargo carried on up to 350 Air Europa flights a week to domestic and European destinations, alongside daily services to the United States and South America.<\/p>\n
At Barcelona, WFS also handles more than 25 Air Europa Cargo flights a week. The airline operates a fleet of Boeing 737s and 787s.<\/p>\n
Jordi Piqu\u00e9, general manager Air Europa Cargo , said: \u201cThe relationship with WFS means having the right specialised partner as it shares with the company both its vision for the future, based on the implementation of the latest technology, and the continuous improvement of processes.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe relationship between Air Europa Cargo and WFS has been based on the ongoing pursuit of operational efficiency and the provision of the highest levels of service quality and safety.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe new agreement will allow this approach to continue through the strengthening and continuous improvement of cargo services across the airline\u2019s network, characterised by the diversity of routes not only on the European continent but also strategic destinations throughout the Americas.\u201d<\/p>\n
Humberto Castro, managing director of WFS in Spain and Italy, said: \u201cIn WFS, the airline knows it has a strong partner which is continuing to invest in modern facilities and continuously reviewing our processes to optimise the efficiency and visibility of the cargo we handle. We remain committed to innovation, using new technologies, and sustainability improvements to underpin the quality of service we deliver at both airports.\u201d<\/p>\n
WFS operates five cargo warehouse facilities in Madrid covering 17,000 sqm, handling over 500,000 tonnes of cargo a year for more than 30 airline customers.<\/p>\n
