Automated aircraft inspection startup Donecle has raised \u20ac10 million to accelerate international expansion and advance its AI-powered drone technologies for aircraft maintenance.<\/p>\n
The funding round was led jointly by IRDI Capital Investissement and SWEN Capital Partners, with participation from GSO Innovation and ARIS Occitanie. The investment will support the Toulouse-based company\u2019s growth across Europe and the US while strengthening its position as a pioneer in automated aircraft inspection.<\/p>\n
Founded in 2015, Donecle has developed a patented inspection solution combining autonomous drones, high-resolution imaging and advanced artificial intelligence (AI).<\/p>\n
The system automates aircraft inspections that are still largely performed manually, completing them up to 10 times faster while improving safety, efficiency, reliability and traceability. The company serves commercial, business and military aviation customers.<\/p>\n
Donecle is also developing a software layer designed to convert inspection data into actionable insights and integrate seamlessly with maintenance, repair and overhaul systems. This approach aims to enhance long-term monitoring and enable predictive maintenance capabilities.<\/p>\n
The company operates more than 40 drones across 15 countries and claims to offer the only inspection solution certified by both Airbus and Boeing, as well as by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Its technology has been adopted by organisations including United Airlines, LATAM, DHL, Viva, Lufthansa, the French Air Force and the Royal Air Force.<\/p>\n
The new funding will support continued international growth, strategic partnerships and potential acquisitions.<\/p>\n
Donecle currently employs 35 staff in France and plans to recruit around 10 additional employees in the coming months while continuing to invest in AI.<\/p>\n
