Panasonic Avionics<\/span><\/span> has secured a major agreement with Air India<\/span><\/span> to provide comprehensive maintenance and support for the airline\u2019s in-flight entertainment (IFE) systems across 74 aircraft.<\/p>\n

Under the deal, Panasonic Technical Services\u2019 (PTS) Total Care Package will deliver end-to-end maintenance for in-flight entertainment (IFE) systems installed on Air India\u2019s Boeing 787-9, Airbus A350-1000, A350-900 and A321neo fleets.<\/p>\n

The agreement covers Panasonic\u2019s latest Astrova and X Series linefit and retrofit programmes.<\/p>\n

Air India has selected the solution as part of its ongoing fleet renewal and modernisation strategy, aimed at ensuring a premium and reliable passenger experience.<\/p>\n

PTS will support this objective by optimising system performance, reducing operational downtime and delivering predictable maintenance costs across both widebody and narrowbody aircraft.<\/p>\n

To support the airline\u2019s growth, Panasonic Avionics is also making long-term operational investments in India, opening two new line maintenance stations in Mumbai and New Delhi, enabling real-time fleet monitoring and on-aircraft maintenance actions.<\/p>\n

The IFE systems will receive comprehensive lifecycle support, including proactive monitoring, spares management, global field engineering and 24\/7 technical assistance. These services are designed to minimise disruptions and maximise aircraft availability.<\/p>\n

Tom Eskola, vice president of PTS at Panasonic Avionics<\/a>, said: \u201cCommitting to our Total Care Package, which is designed to deliver the best possible in-flight experience for passengers, underscores Air India\u2019s commitment to innovation and operational excellence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jeremy Yew, senior vice president \u2013 engineering and maintenance at Air India<\/a>, added: \u201cResponsive, high-quality maintenance support is vital for the operational efficiency of our growing fleet.<\/p>\n

\u201cPanasonic Avionics\u2019 decision to establish new line maintenance stations in Delhi and Mumbai significantly strengthens our ability to minimise IFE-related disruptions and maximise aircraft availability.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis collaboration reinforces Air India\u2019s focus on building strong, future-ready engineering capabilities in India.\u201d<\/p>\n

The agreement was announced during the 2026 Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) event in Hamburg, Germany.<\/p>\n
