Irish-flag carrier Aer Lingus has signed a multi-year agreement with AISmartPlan following a successful trial through the IAGi Accelerator programme, introducing AI-powered maintenance production planning to streamline operations.<\/p>\n
The deal follows a live operational trial conducted during the 2025 Accelerator programme, where the start-up worked directly with Aer Lingus to test and refine its technology in an airline maintenance environment.<\/p>\n
AISmartPlan\u2019s platform is designed to automate maintenance production planning by combining operational data including flight schedules, aircraft availability and workforce constraints to generate optimised maintenance plans.<\/p>\n
The system automatically matches engineers with aircraft and maintenance tasks while providing visual planning tools that allow teams to quickly adapt schedules and resources.<\/p>\n
According to the companies, the platform progressed from proof of concept to a functioning operational solution in just three months and is now being deployed within Aer Lingus\u2019 maintenance production planning activities.<\/p>\n
The companies also revealed that there is potential for wider deployment across other airlines within the IAG group<\/a>.<\/p>\n Lucas De Almeida Ramos Faria, maintenance production planning manager at Aer Lingus, said: \u201cThe way maintenance tasks were allocated to our engineers was previously highly manual and time consuming, which limited how far ahead we could plan.<\/p>\n \u201cThe IAGi Accelerator programme provided us with a valuable opportunity to work with AISmartPlan and test an AI-optimised approach using real operational constraints.<\/p>\n \u201cThis partnership marks a fundamental change in how we plan and optimise maintenance. What used to take hours each day can now be done in minutes, and with far greater confidence in the outcome.\u201d<\/p>\n Throughout the Accelerator programme, Aer Lingus<\/a> maintenance teams worked closely with AISmartPlan to refine the platform\u2019s planning tools, automation capabilities and user experience, creating a solution tailored specifically to airline maintenance operations.<\/p>\n Nicolas Grondin, founder of AISmartPlan, said: \u201cOur goal has always been to fully automate maintenance planning and make complex plans instantly visible and actionable.
