Jules Matteoni has been appointed the new chief executive of Glasgow Prestwick Airport (PIK), succeeding Ian Forgie who is retiring after five years in the role.<\/p>\n
Matteoni has worked at the airport for more than 33 years and will start his new role on July 1, 2026.<\/p>\n
Most recently PIK\u2019s operations director, Matteoni has played a central role in developing the airport\u2019s position as a leading UK gateway for international cargo and e-commerce traffic.<\/p>\n
Matteoni said: \u201cI am looking forward to working with the team at PIK to build on the strong progress we have achieved together. We will continue to strengthen our existing markets while pursuing new opportunities that reflect the airport\u2019s unique commercial advantages and strategic position within the UK supply chain.<\/p>\n
PIK said the appointment follows an extensive recruitment process led by the airport\u2019s board and supported by an external executive search firm.<\/p>\n
Dr Willie Mackie CBE, chairman of PIK<\/a>, said:\u00a0\u201cI am delighted to confirm that Jules will become the next CEO of Glasgow Prestwick Airport.
