Qatar Airways has confirmed that it will not be taking part in next week\u2019s Farnborough Airshow, following the death of HH. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.<\/p>\n
The Emir, known in Qatar as the \u2018Father Amir\u2019 had been ruler of Qatar since 1995, having taken power in a bloodless coup from his father. In the years that followed he modernised the country, establishing numerous sports stadia, founded Al Jazeera TV and oversaw Qatar Airways\u2019 transformation from a fledgling regional carrier to become one of the world\u2019s largest and highest ranked international airlines.<\/p>\n
