Brazilian carrier Azul Linhas A\u00e9reas (Azul) is expanding its dedicated cargo fleet with four additional Airbus A321 freighters, strengthening its domestic and regional network as it deepens its partnership with Global GSA Group.<\/p>\n
The additional aircraft will replace Azul\u2019s Boeing 737 freighters and support the continued growth of Azul Log\u00edstica from its Viracopos hub, increasing capacity across Brazil while enabling further expansion into Latin American markets.<\/p>\n
Global GSA Group will continue to provide commercial support for the enlarged fleet, using data analytics and CargoTech tools to optimise route performance and help maximise cargo capacity.<\/p>\n
Aytekin Saray, chief executive officer of Global GSA Group, said: \u201cAzul already operates over 800 domestic flights per day and handles more than 100,000 shipments each day. With four new freighters soon being delivered, we will be able to optimise Azul Log\u00edstica\u2019s operations using data analytics and other CargoTech software solutions to determine sustainable strategies for certain key routes currently operating at peak, while supporting business development, market expertise, and regional coordination across Latin America.\u201d<\/p>\n
The expanded fleet will support busy domestic services, including double-daily flights to Manaus and scheduled services to Bel\u00e9m, alongside the development of Azul\u2019s international freighter network.<\/p>\n
Scheduled cargo flights to Santiago and Buenos Aires have already launched, while Lima and Montevideo are planned as future destinations.<\/p>\n
Azul also deploys its freighters on charter operations, including specialist shipments such as hatching eggs and concert audio equipment.<\/p>\n
Izabel Reis, director of Azul Log\u00edstica, said the airline\u2019s experience with the Airbus A321 freighter had demonstrated the aircraft\u2019s operational flexibility.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur success story with the Airbus 321 freighter kicked off with the celebration of the first aircraft delivery at Campinas Airport, last year \u2013 and Global GSA Group\u2019s market knowledge and network soon generated excellent load factors on its initial routes,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis freighter type offers the ideal versatility and size, allowing Azul to flex and offer market solutions where they are most needed. So, it was an easy decision to expand and modernise our fleet with an additional four Airbus 321 freighters. They will replace our Boeing 737F, resulting in more sustainable operations and a significant boost to intra-Latin American capacity. And that boost will continue to be fuelled by Global GSA Group\u2019s outstanding commercial support.\u201d<\/p>\n
Azul Log\u00edstica also plans to launch weekly freighter services between Campinas and Lima via Viracopos during the second half of 2026.<\/p>\n
Saray added: \u201cLima is a logical strategic addition to Azul Log\u00edstica\u2019s network, given the high demand that we see from Europe and strong business from Peru to domestic Brazil via the Viracopos hub.<\/p>\n
