Macquarie AirFinance has placed its second direct order with Boeing for the purchase of 30 737-8s.<\/p>\n
The purchase brings Macquarie AirFinance\u2019s 737 MAX order book to 70, with the aircraft scheduled for delivery through to 2032.<\/p>\n
The aircraft leasing and financing provider said the \u201cstrategic expansion\u201d is in response to growing airline demand for fuel-efficient aircraft amid rising passenger traffic and increasing focus on environmental sustainability.<\/p>\n
The 737 MAX series reduces fuel use and carbon emissions by 20% compared to the aircraft they replace, and will mean that Macquarie AirFinance will continue the transition of its fleet to more fuel-efficient, new generation models to enable its airline customers to access the latest technology aircraft.<\/p>\n
Eamonn Bane, chief executive of Macquarie AirFinance, said: \u201cThis incremental order marks another milestone in our company\u2019s growth strategy. By expanding our fleet with these state-of-the-art aircraft, we are reinforcing our commitment to providing sustainable and cost-effective solutions to our partners, while supporting the future of global aviation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Brad McMullen, Boeing senior vice president of commercial sales and marketing, said: \u201cMacquarie AirFinance\u2019s further commitment to the 737 MAX is a testament to the value of this airplane among the leasing community and our airline customers. Lessors remain a crucial partner to Boeing and global carriers in providing financial solutions that expand single-aisle fleets.\u201d<\/p>\n
