Inflight maps and destination content provider, FlightPath3D, has introduced Destination Stories, a new inflight map feature designed to help passengers explore and plan activities at their destination.<\/p>\n
The system is guided by Luci, FlightPath3D\u2019s AI-powered travel companion, which offers recommendations on attractions, cultural landmarks, and other must-see sights. Passengers can watch animated previews, complete with local insights, airline-branded content, and partner promotions, directly from the seatback map.<\/p>\n
Duncan Jackson, president of FlightPath3D, said: \u201cDestination Stories is a seatback experience built for today\u2019s traveller. Highly curated and engaging to spark ideas for now and what\u2019s next. For airlines, it\u2019s a new way to showcase destinations, vacations, and partners right where passengers are planning their journey.\u201d<\/p>\n
Each city is presented through a Destination Board, a visually led homepage highlighting key attractions and experiences. Users can create playlists based on interests \u2013 such as cultural icons or \u2018instagrammable\u2019 hotspots \u2013 or select a continuous tour of must-see sights. A QR code integration allows passengers to continue exploring on their mobile devices, with future upgrades expected to include tour and ticket booking.<\/p>\n
For airlines, the Destination Board provides a marketing platform as well as a guide, with opportunities to embed loyalty perks, seasonal campaigns, and sponsored content alongside the travel storytelling.<\/p>\n
