Collins Aerospace has signed a renewed 10-year FlightSense\u2122 agreement with Japan Airlines (JAL) to provide comprehensive MRO and asset management services for the carrier\u2019s Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet.<\/p>\n
The long-term contract covers air management systems and electric power components across JAL\u2019s existing fleet of more than 50 787-8 and 787-9 aircraft, as well as future deliveries through to 2035.<\/p>\n
Alongside this, the agreement extends JAL\u2019s Ascentia\u00ae analytics services for a further five years, enabling the airline to harness advanced data insights to drive operational efficiency and reduce lifecycle costs.<\/p>\n
Ryan Hudson, head of aftermarket services for Collins Aerospace\u2019s Power and Controls unit, commented: \u201cThrough the FlightSense programme, we work collaboratively with JAL to provide asset, logistic support, certified repairs and predictive health maintenance. This complete support package helps JAL to tailor maintenance decisions and enables improved operational efficiency.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kyohei Takizawa, vice president of JAL procurement, added: \u201cWe are happy to renew our contract with Collins Aerospace, as it plays an important part in improving the quality and parts management of our Boeing 787 fleet. Using the FlightSense programme, especially the Ascentia analytics platform, we aim to make our preventive and predictive maintenance even more accurate.\u201d<\/p>\n
FlightSense is Collins Aerospace\u2019s full lifecycle support solution, integrating predictive health maintenance with analytics-powered recommendations.<\/p>\n
The Ascentia platform interprets millions of aircraft data points to identify performance trends and provide actionable insights, helping airlines improve reliability and optimise maintenance planning.<\/p>\n
The news was announced during the Aviation Week MRO Asia-Pacific 2025 event in Singapore.<\/p>\n
