Aviation services provider, Gama Aviation, has announced major progress on the construction of its new Business Aviation Centre (BAC) at Sharjah International Airport – a purpose-built facility designed to elevate aircraft maintenance and operational efficiency across the Middle East.
Representing a multi-million-dollar investment, the development underscores Gama Aviation’s long-term commitment to the UAE and wider EMEA region, establishing Sharjah as a strategic base for business jet maintenance, parking, and line support.
The 80,000 sqm site will feature a 12,000 sqm hangar dedicated to premium aircraft storage and line maintenance, incorporating wide-span doors, direct apron access and integrated MRO infrastructure to support multiple large-cabin types.
Tooling, parts storage and client viewing areas will be housed within the same controlled environment to optimise workflow and minimise turnaround times.
Tom Murphy, managing director – FBO services at Gama Aviation, said: “The Sharjah Business Aviation Centre will set a new benchmark for private aviation in the Middle East and beyond. Every detail, from terminal flow to hangar layout, has been created around efficiency, safety and the client experience.”
Gama Aviation confirmed that the facility’s line maintenance operations will hold approvals for multiple OEM types, with future capability expansion planned as the company scales up regional MRO activities.
Group chief executive, Marwan Khalek, said: “Our investment in Sharjah underlines our confidence in the emirate and the region’s aviation future. It supports the UAE’s Vision 2030 framework by delivering world-class aviation infrastructure and creating high-value employment.”
Scheduled for completion in early 2026, the BAC expands Gama Aviation’s decade-long partnership with Sharjah International Airport – positioning the site as a regional centre of excellence for business jet maintenance and operations.
