New StandardAero-GMF deal boosts regional engine MRO reach

Aerospace engine aftermarket services firm, StandardAero, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GMF AeroAsia, Indonesia’s leading provider of MRO services.

The MoU is initially focused on harnessing the capabilities of both companies to provide exceptional on-wing support services to operators in Indonesia and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region, for engine platforms such as the CFM International CFM56-7B.

The CFM56-7B – which powers the Boeing 737NG family – remains in widespread use in the region, with approximately 270 engines in service in Indonesia and 4,250 across Asia-Pacific.

StandardAero provides CFM56-7B MRO services to operators across the Asia-Pacific region from its engine overhaul facilities in Canada and the US.

StandardAero is well-established as a reliable provider of engine MRO to the aerospace industry in Indonesia, where it supports over 40 different operators and service providers. StandardAero also has a local presence through its turboprop engine overhaul facility in Seletar, Singapore, which is located just across the Singapore Strait from Indonesia.

“StandardAero is delighted to team-up with GMF in order to offer an unsurpassed range of engine services to operators in Indonesia and beyond,” said Mario Romano, airline sales director – APAC for StandardAero.

“Harnessing the capabilities of both companies will enable us to set new standards in terms of turn around times, delivered quality and cost-effectiveness, for both existing customers and new clients.”

Commenting on the announcement, GMF’s chief executive, Andi Fahrurrozi, said: “This collaboration with StandardAero reinforces GMF’s position as a leading MRO provider in the region by expanding on-wing support services across Asia-Pacific.

“By combining StandardAero’s reliable expertise with GMF’s integrated capabilities, the partnership delivers more efficient and customer-focused solutions.

“Beyond today’s collaboration, it also paves the way for GMF to strengthen its presence in engine maintenance and create lasting value for the aviation industry.”
