Independent UK MRO, Caerdav, has appointed Alan Steer as its new base maintenance manager, tasked with driving improved efficiency across the company’s four lines of maintenance.
Steer brings more than 40 years’ experience in the aviation industry to the business, including 20 years at Thomas Cook Aircraft Engineering.
Most recently, Steer held a similar base management post at BCT Aviation Maintenance, based out of East Midlands Airport.
Steer said: “As soon as I walked through the door I was instantly impressed with the vision of the company – everyone in the business has the right attitude, the right mentality, and they are all heading in the right direction. It’s about building on this and really taking Caerdav forwards.
“It was great to see programmes and procedures already in place that ensure those working on the hangar floor can deliver outstanding support to every customer – which is not something you see at every MRO.
“I want to use my experience and expertise to develop these systems, to drive further efficiencies and to push the company on to the next level.”
Starting his career as an aviation apprentice at Dan Air Manchester, Steer went on to attain his full A and C Licences by the age of 21.
