First A380 to be fitted with Starlink enters service

An A380 belonging to Emirates has become the first aircraft of the type to be retrofitted with Starlink.

The aircraft is set to return to Dubai, having had the installation completed at Cornwall Newquay airport in the UK.  A further two A380s will be similarly fitted out with the high-speed LEO system which will be capable of delivering more than 2 gbps of total aircraft bandwidth across the cabin.

Compared with the Emirates Boeing 777, the Emirates A380 features additional wireless access points and a third antenna to account for for its higher passenger capacity. Optimised inter‑deck integration supports a seamless Wi‑Fi experience, with customers able to enjoy high speeds depending on usage and device capability.
