EVA Air taps Panasonic for Arc 3D maps

Taiwan-based EVA Air has selected the updated Panasonic Arc 3D in-flight map platform, across its Boeing 787, 777-300ER, and its upcoming Airbus A350-1000 fleet.

In addition to the maps, EVA is also the launch customer for Arc for Young Explorers, which combines a dinosaur theme with real-time flight data and allows kids to follow the prehistoric pterosaur Quetzalcoatlus along the aircraft’s flight path.

Other than dinos, the new interface on the redesigned Arc system, highlights three core features high-resolution 3D visuals with smooth interaction. Passengers can choose than 15 viewing angles, including a window perspective, overhead view, or a cockpit-style perspective.
