HAECO completes milestone COMAC C909 landing gear overhaul

Engineering and maintenance provider HAECO has completed the world’s first landing gear overhaul for the COMAC C909 regional jet, marking a significant addition to its landing gear service capabilities in the Chinese Mainland.

The overhaul was completed by HAECO Landing Gear Services in Xiamen with the project underscoring HAECO’s close collaboration with the OEM, Liebherr-Aerospace.

Sandra Nieuwenhuijzen, group director components and engine services of HAECO, said: “The completion of the first C909 landing gear overhaul marks an important step in the continued development of HAECO’s landing gear capabilities. It reflects our commitment to building the right expertise, infrastructure and partnerships to support customers with reliable, high-quality solutions in the Chinese Mainland and beyond.”

HAECO said this milestone highlights its continued investment in specialised MRO capabilities and its focus on building long-term partnerships that enhance support for operators across the region.

A 78-97 seat regional narrowbody jet, the C909 is built for operational versatility designed for short-to-medium routes and has a range of 2,225-3,700km.

HAECO said the C909 programme aligns with its broader strategy to strengthen its landing gear business and adapt to changing fleet requirements in Asia.
